iPRES-congres on its way to Flanders
Together with the Facilitair Bedrijf (Digitaal Archief Vlaanderen), meemoo, Vlaams instituut voor het archief and VRT, together with UGent, we are organizing iPRES, the major international conference on digital preservation, in 2024. The main event will take place in Ghent, from 16 to 20 september. We are joining forces with more than 20 organisations from different sectors to make the congress a success.
For whom
IPRES brings together national and international scholars, students, researchers, archivists, librarians, suppliers and other experts to share knowledge on recent developments and innovative projects on digital preservation, and seek sustainable solutions together.
The program
- On Monday 16 September, you can participate in pre-conference events such as workshops and the Digital Preservation Awards Ceremony.
- From Tuesday to Thursday, the actual conference will take place, with paper presentations, panel discussions, lightning talks, networking opportunities and more. We can already reveal the first keynote speaker: Herbert Van de Sompel comes to inspire on 'Research Communication: Centralisation, Decentralisation, Preservation'.
- Finally, the professional visits will take you to inspiring places in Flanders on Friday.
IPRES 2024 will take place from 16-20 September in hybrid form. The Bijloke in Ghent is the conference's main location, but you can also participate online. Activities will also be organised at other locations in Flanders. It is up to you whether you come to the conference for one day or a whole week, or prefer to participate from behind your laptop.
