Plastic Fanstiastic? - Museum of Industry
On November 14th, not coincidentally the date of birth of Leo Baekeland, a new exhibition on the plastics industry will open in the Museum of Industry. Discover the story of plastic: from Leo Baekeland's world-famous invention 'bakelite', to mass production after the Second World War, to ingenious high-tech applications and today's disastrous plastic soup. Some items from the ephemera collection of the Boekentoren will also be on display.

'Plastic Fantastic?' runs from November 14 until June 1, 2025 at Museum of Industry in Ghent. It's open every day except for Wednesdays.
