In the vibrant artistic life of the 1920s and 1930s, photographers Cami and Sasha Stone occupied a special place, from Berlin to Brussels. The advertising they made at the time says it all: Studio Stone offered advertising, industrial and artistic photography. The Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi and the Amsab Institute for Social History in Ghent joined forces to present the Stones' photographic work in a historical, artistic and political investigation. The corpus of the exhibition is supplemented by various other works, including the magazine 'Bâtir : revue mensuelle illustrée d'architecture, d'art et de décoration' from the Boekentoren collection.
