'Taadscapsuules' in Ghent dialect to be archived for ten years
As part of the Week of the Ghent dialect, four specially decorated time capsules were handed over to four archives in Ghent. The capsules contain Ghent words and expressions that are used today. They will remain under lock and key for ten years. This moment marks the conclusion of the project ‘Es da uuk Gensch?’ by Erfgoedcel Gent.
The time capsule of Michel Bracke, a 90-year-old comedian and theater maker, went to the Book Tower.

The archive, consisting of documents relating to the history of De Fonteine from 1700 onwards (resolution books, meeting minutes, accounts, membership lists, letters, photographs, etc.), was transferred to Ghent University Library in 2022, together with the chamber's 'library' (including plays in print or manuscript form from the 17th to the 20th century and scores of vocal pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries). The archive can be consulted via the catalog at lib.ugent.be.
